Olive Oil Producers Prep for Competition at 2019 NYIOOC | Pour More

Once again, it's the time of year when olive oil producers worldwide prepare to present their highest quality olive oils in hopes of taking the gold at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.

Olive Oil Producers Prep for Competition at 2019 NYIOOC

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition’s annual list of award winners is the authoritative guide to the world’s best extra virgin olive oils. These oils have been vetted by trusted adjudicators, and the awards bring substantial recognition to the dedicated olive oil producers who craft them.

The event begins at 7:30pm (EST) on May 10, with an opening gala that features a special presentation and tasting accompanied by performances from the Julliard School musicians. Perola Polillo (NYIOOC's Resident Chef) will serve up an array of delicacies, alongside a tasting of high-quality olive oils sourced from countries around the world.

The official press conference and unveiling of the NYIOOC award winners is the main event, where those who have managed to produce the year’s best extra virgin olive oils are accorded the industry’s highest honors.

Results of the competition will be announced live and broadcast digitally via this link at 8:30pm (EST). More than 11,000 viewers tuned in to last year's announcement, which (for the third consecutive year) included Bellucci's Legendary EVOO amongst the top performers — Sicilia PGI Organic took the gold.

After the year's best extra virgin olive oils are named and the winning entries are announced, the celebration continues. Live music, an art gallery, and a signature olive oil martini will make the festivities a truly memorable experience for all attendees.

Exciting culinary creations and unique cocktails (all crafted or paired with high-quality olive oil) will spotlight both the NYIOOC's award-winning oils, as well as participating olive oil producers who demonstrate a dedication to excellence. Those honored will have the opportunity to revel in their success, while all participants may sample the inspired flavors of this year's harvest.

Tickets to the 2019 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition are available to the public and can be obtained directly via the NYIOOC website. As always, the Bellucci team will be in attendance — we hope to see you there!
